Magazines

Artboard 1-100.jpg

This poster displays my personal research into the contents of a fashion magazine, portrayed in an infographic. I have gathered many fashion magazines over the last few years. They intrigue me and I used them a lot in my practice during Art Foundation. However, I am rather analytical and I was interested in the statistics of what exactly is included inside a fashion magazine. Since I wasn’t able to find much on this topic online, I decided to conduct the research myself by combing through an issue of ELLE, page-to-page, and regurgitating what I’d learnt onto a poster showing magazines stacked atop each other, set in a typical environment associated with the magazine industry.

Experimenting with different infographic ways of displaying the data & information that I had gathered from ELLE Magazine (issue March 2016)

Deconstruction of a Magazine - Research

I deconstructed an entire magazine in order to visualise exactly how much written content is included within a typical fashion magazine. It filled two A2 pages.
